News from the Meadow Garden: The section “Our Breeding” has been expanded to include the E litter, offering insights into how they were raised at Cathi’s Meadow Garden. In this blog post, we would like to introduce the puppies of the Elemental Litter once again in a little more detail.

Eight weeks have passed since these seven little elements first saw the light of day. Eight weeks full of growth, first discoveries, and many small moments in which it already became clear what different characters were growing up here. It is hard to believe how quickly tiny bundles of fur have turned into confident little personalities – each with their own temperament, their own strengths, and their own role within the litter.

Now the next big step is slowly approaching: leaving for their forever homes. Before their paths lead them out of the Meadow Garden and into the wider world, we would like to introduce our Elemental litter to you once more. The Elemental Litter consists of:

  1. Emil of Cathi's Meadow Garden

  2. Emma Milou of Cathi's Meadow Garden

  3. Enya Akira of Cathi's Meadow Garden

  4. Eira Nikita of Cathi's Meadow Garden

  5. Eugen of Cathi's Meadow Garden

  6. Erwin of Cathi's Meadow Garden

  7. Emilius of Cathi's Meadow Garden

Our clever strategist - Emil of Cathi's Meadow Garden

Very sweet, very gentle – a proper little model puppy, at least at first glance. But when it came to sneaking something away from Mama Nukka, Emil was the cleverest little thief in the entire litter. And once he had secured his “treasure,” he defended it with surprising determination against his siblings. The other elements? They hardly stood a chance.

Emil will soon live with the family who had originally planned to give Emma Milou her forever home. But sometimes life decides differently – instead of Emma Milou, it became Emil. And if you say the two names out loud, you might even notice that they were never that far apart to begin with.

And at Christmas, even Papa Fluke will be treated to a visit from little Emil. Moments like these always remind us how valuable the connection is that we, as the first family of our puppies, are allowed to keep.

Our quiet tide - Emma Milou of Cathi's Meadow Garden

Emma Milou was the one who gave her brother Emil the very first little push into the world. From the very beginning, she showed remarkable calmness and strength. She quickly knew her place among her siblings and carried it with a quiet sense of certainty. Even as a tiny puppy, there was something settled and steady about her.

In the six weeks we were able to spend with her, she showed courage in many small everyday moments. She was often among the first to explore something new, stood firmly on her paws, and moved forward without hesitation.

Her path with us was unfortunately shorter than we had hoped: at the age of six weeks, Emma Milou suddenly developed severe health problems affecting her heart and breathing. Despite an immediate drive to the veterinary clinic and an emergency surgery, there was no hope of recovery, and on September 28, 2025, we had to let her go with heavy hearts.

Yet Emma Milou remains part of this litter, part of this story, and forever a part of Cathi’s Meadow Garden. Some traces are quiet – but they remain.

Our glowing spark - Enya Akira of Cathi's Meadow Garden

The smallest puppy of the litter – and perhaps the most determined. Enya Akira was our little mouse with the sharpest mind. Clever, attentive, and purposeful. If there was a weak spot somewhere in the fence, she would find it. Security was more of a suggestion than a boundary to her. She wore the yellow collar – and it suited her perfectly. Among her grey, brown, and black siblings, she truly was the little golden one. Her coat caught the light, and her presence was hard to overlook.

And her size? Completely irrelevant. She knew exactly how to assert herself among her bigger siblings – clear in her intentions and often one step ahead.

Her name fits her beautifully: Enya is often associated with Irish origins meaning “little fire.” Akira in Japanese can mean “bright,” “clear,” or “intelligent.” A glowing spark in every sense of the word. She will soon move to Luxembourg, becoming the first of our puppies to continue her journey beyond the DACH region and carrying a piece of Meadow Garden fire across borders.

Our silent snowfall - Eira Nikita of Cathi's Meadow Garden

Calm, balanced, and always part of everything – just never the loudest in the room. Eira Nikita moved through the litter with a quiet composure. She joined every adventure, observed attentively, and carried a natural calmness that set her apart from many of her siblings. But calm never meant weak for her. When she had to stand her ground, she did so clearly, directly, and without much fuss.

Her name suits her wonderfully: Eira comes from Welsh and literally means “snow.” Nikita (of Greek origin) means “the unconquered.” Gentle at first glance – strong when it matters.

She will now move in with Mascha and Bear from our Borealis litter. Since Mascha is known for her rather cheeky personality, Nikita might bring a very special new balance to that duo. After all, snow has its own way of settling things – quietly, but with strength.

Our noble flame - Eugen of Cathi's Meadow Garden

Black as night – and almost always the first. Eugen moved through his little world with natural confidence from the beginning. Curious, determined, and self-assured: whenever something new appeared, he was usually the one to approach it without hesitation. A new situation? Tested. An unfamiliar area? Entered. A possible weak spot in the fence? Of course investigated.

His name suits him well: Eugen means “well-born” or “noble.” And indeed, there was something upright and certain in his character early on – a presence that seemed to know its place.

And he will not leave alone: together with his brother Erwin, Eugen will move to Austria. There, the two of them will live side by side on a beautiful farm surrounded by fine horses – a fitting setting for two brothers with strong names.

Our honourable calm - Erwin of Cathi's Meadow Garden

Light grey, almost white – curious, but thoughtful. Erwin also wanted to explore the world, but he chose a different pace than his brother Eugen. When something new appeared, he would step forward, pause for a moment… and often let Eugen go first. Not out of uncertainty, but out of attentiveness. He observed before acting. He watched closely, understood the situation – and once he decided, he was fully present.

His name carries a quiet strength: Erwin is often interpreted as “honoured friend” or “respected warrior.” That combination of loyalty and calmness suited him from early on. Together with Eugen, he forms their own kind of Yin and Yang: one moves forward without hesitation, the other observes, waits, and then acts with intention. Two different energies, but a shared path.

Now the two brothers will live together in Austria, among horses and open stables – black and white, noble and honourable, just as they began side by side as puppies.

Our soft warrior - Emilius of Cathi's Meadow Garden

The last-born of the litter – and the little boy his forever family had been waiting for. Emilius never wanted to fall behind his rough-and-tumble brothers. Whenever there was something to wrestle over, chase, or explore, he was right in the middle of it. After all, the others shouldn’t have all the fun to themselves.

His name carries exactly that energy: Emilius has Latin roots and is often associated with “rival” or “eager.” And yes – he was eager. Eager to join in, eager to belong, eager to prove himself. But beneath that playful fighter’s spirit, there was always something else: a real cuddle bear. As soon as the excitement settled, he was the one seeking closeness, leaning in, and showing his soft and affectionate side.

Now he will move to a family who had been waiting a long time for their little boy. And in return, we gained something just as valuable: a connection that continues beyond those first weeks.

Their names were given to them by their future families – and each of these puppies already seems to be trying, in their own way, to live up to them.

The last days in the Meadow Garden mark a gentle farewell to puppyhood – and at the same time the beginning of a new chapter in their own families. Even though their paths now lead in different directions, one thing remains certain: a piece of Meadow Garden will always travel with them.
