Litter Update: "First Bloom" Puppies Now 5 Weeks Old

The mots beautiful five weeks have passed, and our little spring sprouts are starting to explore their world. Not all of them will be leaving the nest!

The first weeks with our spring litter have passed in what feels like no time – and things are slowly getting lively in the house. Six little buds are now properly on the move: there’s plenty of wiggling, playfighting, and increasingly vocal commentary.

Their eyes have long been open, and what initially looked more like moving backwards than forwards is gradually turning into coordinated movement. These “four-leggeds in training” are becoming more confident, exploring their immediate surroundings and responding more and more consciously to their siblings and environment.

F-Litter "First Bloom" of Cathi’s Meadow Garden

A part of this litter will remain in Cathi’s Meadow Garden and grow directly into our pack. This gives our “First Bloom” an additional meaning: not only Mini’s first litter, arriving right at the beginning of spring, but also the first buds that will continue to grow here and unfold into full bloom. Which paths each individual puppy will take will become clearer over the coming weeks – until then, we are simply enjoying their development as a group.

There are also some familiar faces returning: one of our existing Meadow Garden families will be expanding their pack with another Malamute from this litter. It is always something special for us to see these journeys continue and existing bonds deepen – a wonderful sign of trust and continuity beyond the first dog.

With increasing mobility and a strengthening immune system, daily life is changing once again: the first outings outdoors. There, the puppies experience new impressions, explore their surroundings, and gradually expand their small horizon. With this transition also begins the season of the midnight sun, during which their world continues to open up and spring in Lapland slowly turns into summer.

For now, the little ones still carry their flower “code names” – Schneeglöckchen (Snowdrop), Jack Frost, Filix, Viola, Poppy and Zissy – derived from the colors of their collars. Their official names are still to be given. Over the coming weeks, they will gradually move forward into their future environments, and until then, they continue to be shaped and guided within our pack.

We are very much looking forward to the coming weeks and the next stages of development – and will continue to share updates on our “First Bloom” puppies here in the breeding section of our website as well as on Instagram and Facebook!
