News from the Meadow Garden: The section "Our Breeding" has been updated to include the B-litter, giving insights into their upbringing at Cathi's Meadow Garden. In this blog, we introduce you to the puppies from the Aurora 'Borealis' litter in detail.
Eight weeks have already passed since the arrival of our Borealis puppies. It's hard to believe how quickly the 4 males and 5 females have grown since the last update and how each puppy has already developed its own quirks and character traits. Now, we’d like to introduce you to our B-litter (in the order in which they will be leaving Cathi's Meadow Garden). The Aurora 'Borealis' Litter includes:
Bear of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Mascha of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Bjarki of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Bessy Beauty of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Bören Blue of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Bright Jaro of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Boreal Luna of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Baldur of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Blue of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Our Good-Natured Late Riser - Bear of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Whenever we’re about to take the puppies outside or bring them back in, one is usually missing – our Bear. Bear loves his sleep. To maximize his rest, he strategically positions himself as close to the food station as possible, ensuring he doesn't waste any precious nap time on the way to his meals.
He’s always been this way: Bear was our surprise last guest to arrive but will be the first to leave our kennel. His calm days are numbered, however, as his mischievous sister Mascha will join him in his future pack. We wish Bear and his forever family much patience and relaxation!
Our Cheeky Devil - B-Mascha of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Mascha already bears the letter 'M' right on her face. She's always at the front when it comes to mischief, and she’s responsible for most of the scratches on us humans. As innocent as she looks when she lays her ears back, she’s also a little trickster. Unlike her brother, Mascha is a whirlwind, and that fits perfectly – her name and Bear’s were inspired by the popular series about a little, kind-hearted yet often annoying girl and a harmony-loving bear. She’s got her work cut out for her with Bear, and we’re excited to see how the dynamic between this sibling duo unfolds in their new pack!
Our charming Heartthrob - Bjarki of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Just like his mother Miska’s name, Bjarki means 'little bear' in Old Norse. As a tribute to nature, we also find his Norwegian meaning fitting, as Bjarki means birch tree, and we’re surrounded by plenty of those here – in their frozen state, they are especially enchanting. Just like Bjarki’s smile: he quickly figured out how to melt the hearts of all the humans at Cathi's Meadow Garden with his charming look and his beaming Malamute grin.
In his forever home, a Malamute lady and some Bernese Mountain Dog friends are already waiting for him, and we hope that he will charm his new pack just as he did here.
Our Feisty Ball of Energy - Bessy Beauty of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Bessy has the alert eyes and perky ears of a squirrel, with which nothing escapes her: as soon as there’s something new in the trash bin, she’s the first to pop the lid open and fish out the cat food packaging, safely storing it away in her stash.
Bessy is mischief personified (or should we say dogified?), and when scolded, she rolls dramatically on the floor like the Drama Queen of Cathi's Meadow Garden (or like certain famous football players ;-) ). Besides this diva attitude she inherited from her mother Miska, she also got her father’s singing voice, hitting high notes that serve as her nightly lullaby. With Bessy, there’s never a dull moment, and we wish her forever family plenty of joy with this whirlwind of energy.
Our Daring Tomboy - Bören Blue of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Affectionately called 'Chiccolina,' she’s the only one of the Borealis siblings who looks entirely like her father 'Back to Work Pack Leader Chicco.' Our bushy Blue is a bold one with ears that have been standing tall since day one. She’s our daredevil, always off doing her own thing, never fazed by a snarl when she sneaks another bite from Mama Miska’s food.
She was the first among the nine to be born, and when we look at her, it’s clear she was grown up enough to decide for everyone that it was time to face the world! And it fits: Bören Blue’s name was inspired by Koda, the little bear brother who also declared: "Tell everyone, I’m on my way!" Blue’s forever family lives in the Black Forest, so we hope this won’t be the last time we see her after she moves out.
Our Polite Cuddle-Bear - Bright Jaro of Cathi's Meadow Garden
We often catch him admiring himself in the oven door. Or maybe he’s concentrating hard on trying to get his ears to stand properly. Jaro is the most polite puppy Cathi's Meadow Garden has ever hosted, making time with him really enjoyable: he would never dream of jumping on or knocking us humans over like some of his siblings joyfully do. And when rewarded with attention, he showers you with more oxytocin than you can handle. Jaro is a great balance, tending to the wounds his siblings may have inflicted.
His name means 'Bright Light in the Night,' and although he’s moving to his forever family in Lower Austria, we’ll think of him whenever the northern lights dance above us at night.
Our Gentle Soul - Boreal Luna of Cathi's Meadow Garden
She was the first to master the nightly wolf howl, living up to her name: As 'Moon of the North,' little Luna watches over her siblings. Although she’s already kept us up for a few sleepless nights, you simply can’t stay mad at her. Luna is the kind soul of the Borealis litter and wouldn’t knowingly hurt a fly. But she has her siblings to take her under their wing.
An experienced companion is already waiting for her in her forever home, and we look forward to seeing what a graceful Malamute lady she will become.
Our Playful Party Lion - Baldur of Cathi's Meadow Garden
His name comes from Norse mythology, where he is associated with light, beauty, love, and happiness. As the son of Odin and Frigg, the god Baldur was loved by all for his gentleness and wisdom. Our rascal has yet to master these traits, but soon he will be spending his days with his foster brother in the stable among horses. We’re sure he’ll fit right into his new pack and help explore his new kingdom.
Baldur will live on the other side of the Neckar Valley and hopefully stop by on our side from time to time.
Our Clever Elf - Blue of Cathi's Meadow Garden
Blue is particularly cunning. She knows exactly when she has the best chance of tackling her rowdy brothers and sisters: when they’re fast asleep. When everyone is resting, our little night elf is the only one awake. She pounces on them while they slumber, barking as she rolls around. Blue loves to play with fire – but watch out if one of the sleeping giants stirs. In that case, she’s quick to enlist her invisible friends or pick a fight with a crumb of a treat.
Blue will be the last to leave Cathi's Meadow Garden, but her journey won’t take her too far. Since her forever family has already visited our pack several times from Switzerland, we’re sure this won’t be the last time we see her.
The names were given by their future families, and the puppies are proudly trying to live up to them. In no time, we’ll be packing up with Mama Miska and her Borealis litter, leaving our Swedish winter quarters for our facility in the Neckar Valley in Germany before they head off to their forever families. What the siblings have experienced at Cathi's Meadow Garden so far, and what adventures await them, can be found in the Breeding section on our website!
